Carolyn + John : Christ the Reedemer Wedding {Cypress Wedding Photographer}

Carolyn and John were biting their fingers last month. It was Thursday, the sky was dark and everything was looking wet. Friday’s rehearsal dinner was soaked, and the out of town guests got their taste of wacky Texas weather. But by Saturday afternoon – the dark skies broke up and the sun began to shine just in time for their wedding.

I started off the day by swinging by the Cypress Chateau as they finished getting things set up. C + J, used the traditional architecture at the chateau and kept everything simple, clean and elegant. I love how the mirror and crystal twinkled off all the natural light in the room.

I then headed to the church to wait for the bridal party to arrive. Carolyn looked gorgeous and her bridesmaid wore the cutest dresses. After the ceremony at Christ the Reedemer Catholic Church – the sun had set and we took advantage of the tall stained glass that glowed behind Carolyn and John.

Sometimes when I shoot a wedding by myself, I take along Emmanuel (my boyfriend) – for lighting assistance and to help me with all my equipment. He likes photography, he even took a course not to long ago in film. But he’s a little intimidated by it all. You kinda have to get ‘up in there’ and get the shot – you can’t be shy. When I’m off doing my work he’ll take out one of the spares in our bag and starts looking for special moments. I loved these last two he shot. While I was getting the money shots with the cake cutting – he stood back and captured this moment. I didn’t see it until I was editing and love it. I love him too. Great capture honey.

Jen + Billy : A Woodlands Wedding Part I {Woodlands Wedding Photography}

I’m about to make Jen and her mom very happy ladies. This will be a Part I of a series of blog posts since there are so many wonderful moments captured for this love story. Jen and Billy were married in a beautiful ceremony at the Chapel in the Woods at the Fellowship of the Woodlands campus a few weeks ago. I’m not sure how, but Jamie - Jen’s mom planned this wonderful event in three weeks! I’m sure she’d been planning a wedding for her daughters in her mind for years though. I can immediately tell how close she is to both of them. This April afternoon, it was Jennifer’s time.

The rain held off and in turn gave us nice even light for the pre ceremony images. The chapel is gorgeous, and even moreso in person. The flowers were spectacular and by C&M Floral Design. I loved how expressive Jen became as the dress came on too. She visited the ladies at Brickhouse Bridal for her dress and it fit her like a dream.

We set up a First Look with Jen’s dad. When the bride and groom opt to not see each other beforehand I usually suggest a first look with dad, because let’s face it – he’s a pretty special guy too. He was pretty anxious to see his first daughter getting married. I am thrilled that I was able to capture that moment for them. And lastly is a great family formal portrait. You don’t see too many of those posted on blogs – but I think they are so important. They may not be as creative but they are necessary and I always make it a point to save time in the day for them. It’s a day where everyone is looking their best and becomes an instant heirloom. Enjoy!

Dana’s Beautiful Bridals {Ashelynn Manor – Magnolia, TX}

Dana is the sweetest country girl that loves to dust up her boots in the city. Her blonde locks and sparkly eyes and personality makes her everyone’s friend. She married her love Dalton under the oaks this past weekend – that post is coming in a few weeks – but for now enjoy her bridal session images. We shot these earlier in the month at the always beautiful and serene Ashelynn Manor.

Congrats Miss Etherington!

Her dress was one of the cutest I’ve seen. It matched her personality and her wedding style. It was actually a two piece dress – the lace was a mini dress and the big billowy silk skirt even had pockets. Cayoot! The ladies at Brickhouse Bridals did an awesome job in matching up this dress to the bride. At Brickhouse they even help you out and add in the something blue by sewing in a sweet light blue bow on the inside of the dress. How cool is that?

Liz is Getting Married! {Houston Wedding Photography}

Liz is one of those bubbly personalities that are always so much fun to be around. We met last July and I can’t believe we are now only 3 weeks away from the wedding! We met at a private residence in Tomball before Thanksgiving to shoot her bridals in the late afternoon sun. She is stunning and Liz cheered me up when she said I finally “made her feel like a bride”.

I usually don’t post bridals before the wedding, but she was quick to note that if it’s not sports related then there would be a slim chance that soon-to-be hubby Jason would come around here. Ahh, yes football season. Can’t wait to see both of you this month for your wedding!

{Houston Wedding Photography} To Serve and To Honor : Congrats Savannah and Kenny

Savannah and Kenny had waited for a long time for this day. College sweethearts from A&M, after graduation they transitioned from being by each others side daily to having a long distance relationship. Savannah came back to Houston to work while Kenny decided to serve our country in the Air Force. I can’t imagine how hard it had been to be thousands of miles apart. But they had their day in September to look forward too.

They are the ultimate ying-yang couple. Kenny is the boisterous one, and Savannah folds her arms and rolls her eyes. With love of course. Lots and lots of love. I’m sure their cheeks hurt at the end of the day from all the smiling. I had so much fun getting to know Savannah and Kenny, and I hope they are all bundled up tight in Cheyenne right now. I’m sending ya’ll Snuggies for Christmas!

{Katy Tx Wedding Photographer} – He Reeled Her In

Earlier this year Lauren emailed me to inquire about my availability for their wedding. She said her fiance was very busy all the time, so it would be best to meet at his restaurant. When I arrived it was quite my surprise that the fiance was Jerry. He was in my graduating class from Langham Creek High School. Gosh Houston is big – and sometimes it’s not. As a photographer, I’m always playing 7 degrees of separation – there’s always someone who knows someone.

I was surprised he recognized me, I mean I was the quiet nerd that was mostly in the darkroom. He and his twin brother Jerry were the funny and outgoing track athletes. But see Jerry one of those people that never forgets a face and always flashes a smile, and Lauren being so sweet and having great sense of humor herself – I just knew it was a great match.

That feeling was compounded x1000 the day of their wedding. I can’t recall how many time’s I’ve told my computer screen… “they’re sooo cute!” while processing their images. Jerry loves fishing, and Lauren loves being by his side. One day on the lake, he boldy told Lauren – I think today will be the biggest catch of my life. I’m sure Lauren sorta rolled her eyes at that one. Later, Jerry told Lauren to get something out of this tackle box, and he proposed to her as she found her engagement ring inside.

It was only appropriate then that they get married on the lake. At the house of great family friends, everyone pitched in the week before the wedding to clean things up, put new flowers in, and get the deck ready. Family and friends casually gathered around the waters edge to witness the sunset ceremony. It was perfect, people teared up – they chuckled. It was love all the way around.

Thank you Lauren and Jerry for inviting me to be part of your day. I know that you are both beautiful people inside and there is no doubt in my mind that great things lie ahead for you both.

Mariah & Diego : The FunBooth {Houston Photo Booths}

It seems like every few weeks there is something really exciting happening at Trésor Photography. There’s some secret sessions next week that will eventually launch a new offering and then there’s the FunBooths that have been successfully launched this month.

We are offering the FunBooths for weddings and events. We can rock your photo booth even if we are not the main wedding photographer too. They are a great alternative to renting those mall type booths, which we think are pretty cheesy. Our FunBooth is a modern alternative that gives everyone more space to go crazy.

Kedrin + Tony : Congratulations {Houston Wedding Photography}

Last weekend I had the pleasure to partake in Kedrin and Tony’s special day. They were my first out of town couple. The both live in Kansas City and planned their big day from a far in order to have their celebration in Kedrin’s hometown. I’ve been to countless weddings, as a guest and as a photographer, but there was one thing that struck me the most. Having not met Kedrin before hand, only talking through the phone – I was smitten at how genuine she is. When I walked in to her dressing suite she was on her laptop, preparing her music CD for the ceremony a mere two hours beforehand. Cool as a cucumber. Along the way in the preparation – from finishing hair, to makeup, to putting on jewelry – she would announce to all her bridesmaids, “ladies i’m getting married today!” I believe everyone should enter a marriage with pure enthusiasm like that. Here are a few of my favorite details.

Leading up to the ceremony it seemed like everyone pulled me aside and whispered that for Tony – it was of utmost importance for me to get Kedrin’s expression at the ring exchange. She had seen the ring previously but it was going to be a complete surprise to her that Tony upgraded her without her knowing. Everytime I come around your city Bling bling. Haha. Ok I’ll stop being silly… here are the goods:

If your wondering about the dollar – well that’s another cute story. Kedrin’s son in the course of the engagement told Tony he would be able to marry his mom for a dollar. Here is the cutie showing it off on the ring pillow.

Amy + Coco : Congratulations! {Houston Wedding Photography}

Amy and Coco were married late last month amoungst family and friends. They’re high school sweethearts and both were cool as cucumber as if they had a dress rehearsal for their wedding all the time. Well it wasn’t until Coco was at the church did his nerves show. Editing this wedding brought so many smiles because it was reliving such a wonderful day. Amy and Coco are both very loving and it is apparent they are best friends. Cheers to being married to your best friend! Here’s a sneak peek at some of their photographs. San Antonio Missions Bridals {Houston Bridal Photography}

A few weeks ago, I attended a Bridal Photography workshop with one of North Texas’s best fashion bridal photographers. A group of photographers and models met a the San Antonio Missions at sunrise. A cold front blew through the night before – and it was a chilly session to say the very least. The models were very brave and committed to the success of the workshop, shivering along the way. The sun however, decided not to show. So, we didn’t get much of the beautiful sunrise sky. Here are some of my favorites from the workshop. No smiling brides here… just moody, romantic and beautiful.
